#1: Sponge Docks – Dodecanese Blvd

The heart of Tarpon Springs, start at the Chamber of Commerce at 100 Dodecanese Blvd, then explore!!

Lots of places to eat on Dodecanese, you’re sure to find good Greek beer and baklava in any local restaurant, here we are at Mama’s on Athens St., and may I recommend a stop in the Agora Food Market across the street at 602 Athens Street.

#2: St Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral

Any time I’m near a cathedral, I try to poke my head in or at least explore the grounds.

#3: Discovery Park

my kids always love a good playground, here’s your spot for the kids!!

#4: a drive along Riverside Drive and North Spring Blvd

This drive is along the bayous, a nice winding little road with pretty scenery.

I bet you could even walk around the bayous.

5#: Sunset Beach

Small, local beach and best place to see the sunset,

even on a cloudy day the colors were fantastic!

#6: Fred Howard Park

the wooded area boasts picnic tables, pavilions and a shaded playground.

The causeway to the beach is a picturesque view and the beach is on the Gulf of Mexico, so all is well.

#7 Dinner at Dimitri’s on the water

– ask for a seat on the water, they do Saganaki, Greek flaming cheese, the best,

don’t forget to yell Opa!!

Be sure to feed the fish from your table– its a trip, really… throw them some bread!

#8 Boat Tour

– be sure to get dropped off on Anclote Key Preserve State Park

– we did not go on a boat tour but plan to when we return, I’ll start by looking here

#9: Picnic in Craig Park

chances are you’ll see manatees, dolphins and a mermaid statues. Shady, peaceful I can’t think of a better place for a picnic lunch, or even an early morning coffee and stroll.

#10: Relax by the water

Take time to do nothing. To not move.

To be still.

Tarpon Springs offers lots of natural water, or go to your hotels pool. Oh, and don’t forget to swim.

So that’s 10 of my top things to do in Tarpon Springs.

If you go, I’d love to hear about it

and don’t forget #theFrugalTravelMom on social media
